Walloon Lake Weddings

We are your one-stop shop for all the events surrounding your special day. There are countless options for all the events surrounding your wedding celebration, such as: rehearsal dinner, welcome reception, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception and after wedding brunch here in the beautiful Village of Walloon Lake.

Event Spaces Overview

The Village of Walloon has a few different venues that can accommodate your group.

The Talcott: The Talcott is northern Michigan’s newest event venue. This venue can accommodate up to 250 guests and is located across the street from Hotel Walloon.

Walloon Lake Inn: This venue is perfect for more intimate events! The Walloon Lake Inn can accommodate up to 80 people for your wedding reception.

Hotel Walloon: Hotel Walloon is an exclusive wedding destination perfectly set on the shore of Walloon Lake which offers you and your guests exclusivity and memories to last a lifetime. The patio of the Hotel can accommodate 150 guests for your ceremony. In order to have any private event on our patio, 30 guest rooms must be booked by your party for a minimum of two nights.

Village Green Park: The Village Green Park overlooks beautiful Walloon Lake and is the perfect ceremony / reception site for up to 250 guests. The Village Green Park is located in the middle of the village and offers spectacular lake front views. In order to have any private event on the Village Green Park, 6 guest rooms must be booked by your party for a minimum of two nights.

Policies

Conduct: All properties within the Village of Walloon Lake are smoke free. Proper photo identification of anyone who appears to be under 40 years of age will be required to receive alcoholic beverages. Service to those under the age of 21 will not be permitted by staff or guests. No contracted vendors will be served alcohol regardless of who contracts them. Individuals under the age of 21 who appear to be under the influence of alcohol will be escorted off the property. Individuals who become inebriated and intrusive will be asked to leave the property. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

Decorations: All displays, exhibits and decorations must conform to the rules and regulations of the event space, the State of Michigan building codes and fire ordinances and should be free standing without attachment to walls, ceilings or floors. We ask that you refrain from attaching items to ceilings, beams, trusses, walls or floors without prior consent, if the Client requests items hung from the ceiling, such as, lanterns, lighting, etc. We can provide a service charge of $50 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Private event signage for the outside of the event space is provided. Any additional signage provided by client must be approved upon before posting.

Deposits: A deposit is required with the signed contract to reserve your desired space and date. This deposit is non-refundable. The deposit schedule will be based on the estimated amount for your event based on what you choose to offer at your event, due a certain number of months before your event. Full pre-payment of the estimated charges based on your number of guests is due by 30 working days prior to the event. The advance deposits may be paid by cash, cashier’s check, personal check, or credit card. 

Event Details: The menu and all other details of your event(s) are to be finalized in writing 30 days prior to the event. Details should include menu selection, room set up, audio-visual requirements, entertainment, floral and rental items.

Outside Vendors: All outside vendors contracted by the client must review and sign the established vendor guidelines prior to the event date.

End Time: In consideration of other patrons enjoying the Village of Walloon Lake, music and events must conclude by 11:00 PM

Service Charges: All beverage, audio-visual and miscellaneous charges are subject to additional charges and state taxes as follows: Two additional charges will be added to your final bill. The first charge is a 16% service charge, which will be distributed to the hourly service employees. The second charge is a 6% administrative fee. The service charge or any portion thereof does not represent a tip, gratuity or service charge for hourly service employees engaged in the event. It represents a fee for administrative expenses associated with the event, and compensation for supervisory and managerial personnel responsible for the event. The administrative fee is subject to State of Michigan sales tax which is currently at a rate of 6% and is subject to change at any time without prior notice.

Audio Visual: There is on-site audio visual equipment for your planning convenience. Once your audio visual needs are determined we are happy to provide you pricing for your event.

EVENT SPACES EXPLAINED IN DETAIL:

The Talcott

This venue can accommodate up to 250 guests and is located across the street from Hotel Walloon. The Talcott reception space includes vendor assistance, set up and take down of the following:

  • Thirty 60” Round Tables
  • Eight 8’ Tables
  • Eight Cocktail Tables
  • Six 6’ Tables
  • White Folding Chairs
  • Black Floor Length Linen
  • White Linen Napkins
  • 15’ X 18’ Dance Floor
  • 12’ X 24’ Stage
  • Bar

Food & Beverage

The bar service must be provided by the Walloon Lake Inn. They offer a variety of packages available to fit any budget. The Talcott does allow clients to hire an outside caterer for all food items from our preferred caterers list.

The Talcott requires all beverages for events held on premise be purchased from the Walloon Lake Inn. Final guarantee of bar selections will be due no later than (2) months prior to your event to ensure arrival prior to event date. The Walloon Lake Inn requires the final guarantee of attendants be communicated to the Sales Manager no later than 10 days prior to the event. If the guaranteed number is not provided, the billing will be for the greater of the following (i) The number of persons for which the party was originally booked or (ii) The number of persons in attendance.

There is no food and beverage minimum for events held at The Talcott.

Hotel Walloon Room Requirements

Hotel Walloon offers guests who have an event scheduled at The Talcott a block of rooms with the maximum of 6 rooms. Any event will be subject to the two-night minimum length of stay requirement at the time of the event. Hotel Walloon will add rooms to the block if the block fills prior to the cut-off date. Guests will be given a variety of rooms in the block for individuals to book.

Rental Fees

Additional charges may apply for set up of rented items, extravagant décor, etc. This will be at the discretion of the General Manager or Sales Manager.

Function Space is held for two hours before the planned start time for an event and one hour after the contracted end time for event (11:00pm). Failure to vacate within that time will result in a holdover change of $2,000.00 per hour.

Walloon Lake Inn

This venue is perfect for more intimate events. This venue can allow you to host your rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception or day after wedding brunch! The Walloon Lake Inn can hold 80 people for your event with guests seated inside and outside on the patio area. The maximum capacity for your group to all be seated inside for dinner would be 60 people. This space includes:

  • Tables
  • Chairs
  • White linen
  • Place settings & glassware
  • Set up and tear down of the event space

There is not an option for an inside dance floor.

Food & Beverage 

All food and beverage is required to be purchased from the banquet menus from the Walloon Lake Inn.

  • (1) Lakeview Two Bedroom Suite

Walloon Lake Village Green Park

The Village Green Park is centrally located in the heart of Walloon Lake Village. It is a beautiful park that overlooks Walloon Lake. The Village Green Park is able to hold up to 250 guests for a ceremony. We will do everything we can to ensure that your wedding is private. However, please be aware that this is a public park. This space includes:

  • White Folding Chairs
  • Security to keep your event semi-private
  • Private Event Signage
  • Set up and tear down of the event space

Room Requirements

We require the booking of (6) guest rooms for two nights to secure the Village Green Park for a private event.
